Exploring our Heritage through our Ancestors Local HistoryThis village on Mill Creek was founded in 1851 by Nathan White as Brockway Center. At the suggestion of B. R. Noble it was renamed Yale on June 24, 1889, honoring Yale University. Incorporated as a village in 1895 and as a city in 1905.
