Local HistoryIt came into being with the Wylie Cooperage Company about 1888. Its station on the Manistee & Northwestern Railroad was named Wylie's. It became a ghost town about 1915 when the source of the raw elm logs was depleted. Originally about a mile south of Interlochen, part of its town site is now in that village.
