Local HistoryThis village was named for Mr. Winn. Franklin J. Williams became its first postmaster on December 19, 1867, the office operating until November 1, 1881. Storekeeper William Wiley Dush, platted the village as Dushville and it was given a post office of that name on January 26, 1882, with him as its postmaster, but the name Winn was restored to the village and to its pot office on January 14, 1898.
