Local HistoryEzra Cole was the first settler here in 1835. The village was first known as Oakford, and was given a post office of that name on July 24, 1854, with Northright Knapp as its first postmaster. On June 15, 1869, it was renamed for Edward Payson Weston, a professional pedestrian. A station on the Lake Shore & Michigan Southern Railroad.
