Exploring our Heritage through our Ancestors Local HistoryIn 1851, Patrick McGlone became the first settler here, opening an inn, and the place became known as McGlone Corners. Aaron Watrous came with a crew to begin lumbering on the Cass River in 1852, and built his mill here in 1853.
