Local HistoryFayette Walker founded and platted this village in 1883 on land that he owned naming it Walkerville. Named Stetson on November 2, 1883. It became the terminal station of the 27-mile Mason & Oceana Railroad in 1886. Renamed Walkerville on May 13, 1898. Incorporated as a village in 1908.
