A year round resort. Amenities include 36 holes of golf, 34 downhill slopes, over 40 km of cross-country trails, groomed for both track and skate skiing.

Local History

This village on the Betsie River lies in both Colfax and Weldon Townships.  Sumner S. Thompson operated his Thompson Lumber Company to the south of here, but when the railroad came through he moved it here to be on the line and thus began the village named for him.  Incorporated as a village in 1892.
