AuTrain Lake Campground is located in Alger County, about 10 miles west of Munising. At AuTrain, travel south on FR-HO3 for about four miles, then go one mile east on FR-2276, and then two miles north on FR- 2596 to the Campground.

AuTrain Lake is the largest inland lake in the area. It is an 830 acre lake with a maximum depth of 30 feet and an average depth of 12 feet The large size of this lake provides miles of prime water skiing, boating, swimming, and fishing. Canoeing is also popular here on AuTrain Lake and the AuTrain River below the lake.

Camping
This campground has 37 large, wooded, campsites with tables and fireplaces. Drinking water and toilets are conveniently spaced throughout the campground.

Fishing
Fishing is good for northern pike, walleye, and perch.  A boat launch is located near the day use area.

Picnic Area
There are tables, grills, toilets, and drinking water in the day use area.  Enjoy this lovely area while you picnic, swim, boat, fish, or just relax.

The sandy swimming beach is located at the day use area. Please remember there are no lifeguards. Swim at your own risk.

Hiking
AuTrain Songbird Trail starts and ends in the campground.  You may check out the songbird trail kit-- including a tapeplayer, cassette, binoculars and fieldguide -- from the campground host.  The kit combines with informational signs along the route to provide a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the habitats along the trail and the birds frequenting those habitats.  In addition, an elevated observation platform offers views of treetop birds and overlooks AuTrain Lake's Buck Bay. 

Boating
The boat launch is at the parking area. There is turning and parking space for vehicles with boat trailers. Boat rentals are available in AuTrain.

A nearby boat launch on Lake Superior is located on AuTrain Bay.

General Information
Bait, camping supplies and food, are available in AuTrain.  AuTrain Lake Campground is a fee area.  Nearby attractions include Scott Falls, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Grand Island National Recreation Area, charter fishing, boat tours, and the North Country National Scenic Trail. 

AuTrain Lake Campground is a fee area.  Golden Passports are accepted.
