BusinessesLocal HistoryA station on the Detroit, Mackinaw & Marquette Railroad in 1882, named Jeromeville for David H. Jerome, the first native born governor of Michigan, 1881-83. The site of a shingle mill, it was given a post office as Shingleton, with James M. Carr becoming its first postmaster on September 20, 1887.
