BusinessesLocal HistoryFounded in 1870 by Wildman Mills and named after his home town of Sandusky, Ohio. Incorporated as a village in 1885. From its location in the county, it was renamed Sanilac Center on February 19, 1889, but changed back to Sandusky on July 24, 1905, when it was incorporated as a city.
