BusinessesLocal HistoryPolish immigrants settled here in 1870, the first being Lawrence Kowalski. The town being named after the province of Poznan in Poland. Given a post office on February 24, 1875, with Frank Roshek as its first postmaster. Its station on the Alpena & Northern Railroad was called Vincent. Incorporated as a village in 1907.
