Keego Harbor

Local History

J. E. Sawyer, settled here in West Bloomfield Township in 1902.  He built three cottages on Willow Beach, developed the present Cass Lake Subdivision (he called it The Park), converted Dollar Lake into a harbor by building a canal connecting it with Cass Lake, and named it Keego Harbor.

Neil McMillan became its postmaster on January 16, 1920.  Incorporated as a village in 1954.  Keego is the name of a slender fish.
