Local HistoryThis village on the shore of Big Bay de Noc began as a station on the Minneapolis, St. Paul & Sault Ste. Marie Railroad, and was first called New Minneapolis. It was given a post office as Isabella on December 20, 1887, with Joseph A. Henderson as its first postmaster, the office operating until May 31, 1941.
