Local HistoryHomer E. Hudson became the first postmaster of South Georgetown, named from its location in Georgetown Township. The office was renamed Hudsonville for him on January 22, 1872. Given a station on the Chicago & Western Michigan (now Pere Marquette) Railroad in 1874, with storekeeper Horace A. Hudson as the first station agent.
