State Parks and Camping in MichiganCommunity InformationThe City of Howell's historic downtown, named a National Historic District, is a treasure trove of 19th century architecture, much of it restored and preserved for the future. A variety of shops from women's clothing and lighting to jewelry and gifts, restaurants, pubs and even a classic tea room welcome shoppers. From May through October, the Howell Sunday Farmer's Market offers the best locally grown produce at its State Street location. The centerpiece of Howell's downtown is the beautifully restored Richardson Romaneque-style Livingston County Courthouse with its sweeping lawns and towering elm trees.
