Local HistoryLumberman, Michael B. Harris, later a member of the legislature from this district, settled here in 1875. It was given a post office named DeLoughory, for farm George W. DeLoughory, who became its first postmaster on July 8, 1880. He resigned and the office was closed. The office was restored on July 13, 1883, with Mr. Harris as its postmaster and on September 6, 1900 the office was renamed for him. A station on the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad.
