Heritage through our Ancestors Local HistoryFirst settled by Ezra Beardsley and called Beardsley's Prairie. Founded by the county's first merchant, Thomas H. Edwards, in 1828. The first post office was called Saint Joseph's and renamed to Edwardsburgh in February, 1830. The spelling was changed to Edwardsburg in December, 1845. Incorporated as a village in 1911.
