Local HistoryThe lake (Clark Lake) was named by Robert Clark, of Monroe, a government surveyor in this area, in 1824. In 1833, George Stranahan settled on the north side, west end of the lake, and the village which developed was called Clarklake. A station on the C., J. & M. Railroad. Jay D.
