Local HistoryFounded by Davis Haven and Henry Killefer, both from Ohio, in 1855. Given a post office on January 17, 1856. Platted by William Killefer and George W. Haven in 1870, the year the Michigan Central Railroad came through. Incorporated as a village in 1881. So named by Davis Haven because it was a blooming valley.
