Local History

Several subdivision associations proposed a village government for this part of Southfield Township boundaries were established and in 1958 it was incorporated as the village of Westwood, so named because the area was west of Woodward Avenue.  In 1959, it was renamed, the area having been known for years as the Beverly Hills subdivision.
