Local History

This sawmill settlement in Inland Township was first named Kentville for farmer Albert Kent who became its first postmaster on April 24, 1888.  Given a station on the Chicago & Western Michigan (now Pere Marquette) Railroad and renamed Bendon on June 30, 1892.
