Local HistoryIts first settlers, most of them lumbermen, located here about 1863. First known as Grand Forks from its location at the forks of the Tobacco and Cedar Rivers. Its continuous settlement dates from 1875. The town was founded in 1890 by Donald Gunn Ross & Sons, lumbermen, from Beaverton, Ontario.
