Listed on the National & State Registers of Historic Places, Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse is reminiscent of a medieval castle.  The light guided ships through the Straits from 1883 until 1957, when the Mackinac Bridge was opened.  Today you can visit the Fog Signal Station & Visitor Center.  This site is popular for picnics, strolls and sunsets.
