Local HistoryA station on the Duluth, South Shore & Atlantic Railroad, about midway between L'Anse and Houghton. Storekeeper Martin Erickson became its first postmaster on November 13, 1900, the office operating until September 19, 1915. When it was restored on February 13, 1917, William Nettie was appointed its postmaster, but he declined and Jacob B.
