Henry Ladd SchafferSchaffer, Michigan
My grandfather Harry Ladd Schaffer was born in
Hackensack, New Jersey on 7/6/1896. He died a few months after my mother was
born and we have lost touch with this side of the family. Harry was the son of
Charles William Schaffer II and Mary E. Eckert. The information I have from
old letters is that Charles's father (Charles the first?) and his brother
started a lumber mill in Michigan and that the town of Schaffer was named
after the family. If anyone has relevant information, or is a distant
relative, please contact me.
