This is the Store/P.O. etc...The building next to it is the Town Hall (then) which he donated an acre for the township to build it there. The darker looking building beyond that is where my Grandpa John C. Erskine lived. But I sure don't remember it looking like that. |

Local History
A station on the Detroit, Mackinaw & Marquette Railroad. The village was founded by the Martell Furnace Company, charcoal kilns, in 1880-81, and was named by and for its superintendent, Allen P. Hulbert. It's post office operated from April 1, 1898 to September 30, 1958.
