Local History

As a step toward what was believed his intention of building a plant in the region, Henry Ford began his "model"  lumber town of Alberta in the spring of 1936, homes, schools, churches, etc., following.  when he closed out the operation about 1943, the community dwindled away.  It was named after the daughter of one of his top executives.
