Adamsville

 

Located in Cass County

Local History

Adamsport was platted by Sterling Adams, of Vermont, in 1832, and Christina, on the opposite site of the creek, was laid out by merchant and mill owner Moses Sage, from New York, in 1834.  His site was first called Sage's Mill.  Since 1838, both have been called Adamsville.  

Mr. Adams became its first postmaster on October 8, 1831.  The office operating until May 31, 1904.
